Conversation cards

A set of conversation cards housed in a partitioned wooden box. Each card has a black and white lithograph illustration of common object or scene, with a printed phrase and short sentences on the reverse side. Images are available for download through the Princeton University Library catalog, (CTSN) 40102 Toys. https://catalog.princeton.edu/catalog/9947451633506421
Full description
The open box shows the front or back of several sample cards. Images include Adam and Eve, a donkey, a man regarding a grave, a wheelbarrow, and two children blowing bubbles. Phrases from the back of each card include a title, such as “A Girl Feeding a lamb” followed by a short sentence, such as “The little girl is feeding the pretty lamb.” The interlocutor image on the interior lid is quite warn, but seemingly shows a mother playing with an infant using the cards, while the infant clutches a doll or toy. Another label below the image bears the title.
