Full description

A strip of paper partially pulled out from its wooden cylindrical container to show A, B, C, D in bold font, with images of objects that begin with each letter. Child users unroll the alphabet by pulling the strip out of its turned wood cylindrical case. Scroll alphabets were sometimes printed on linen for durability, possibly inspiring the homemade literacy scroll titled Little Miss Kitten Come and Read (see chapter 1).
