Full description

In the final visit to the shop, shown in this spread, Lady Meanwell requests the most “useful things” in the shop. The toyman suggests several children's books, which Horace and Bellinda are shown reading here. At this point we come full circle in the metatextual story, as the toyman transforms into a bookseller, the very one who has printed and sold this book.
